Dr. Cassandra Phillips

Dr. Phillips (formerly Dr. Sturt) started off as an elementary school teacher but later decided to pursue a career in dentistry, graduating in 2008 from the University of Alberta with a Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree.

Dr. Phillips brings so much sparkle and positive energy to dentistry. With 12 years of experience working with families and patients of all ages, she takes the time to get to know her patients. Her fun personality puts children and anxious patients at ease and creates a positive and calming environment. She is a big believer in continuing education and loves all aspects of general dentistry.

Outside of work, she values her time with her husband Mark, three children, and her two dogs and a cat.

Kaelyn

Kaelyn was born and raised in the beautiful Okanagan. At a young age she was always intrigued by the dental profession. She completed her dental hygiene in 2017 at Camosun College, where she was placed on the dean's honor roll. She then worked at a general dental office in Kelowna until she relocated to Alberta late 2019.

Kaelyn looks forward to seeing her patients each day and educating them on the importance of oral health and the impact it has on the body as a whole. She is known for her gentle, thorough cleanings and ensures each and every patient is comfortable during the duration of their appointments.

When Kaelyn isn't working she enjoys soaking up the Okanagan sun out on the lake, wine touring the countless wineries, spending quality time with her friends and family and two dogs; Ella and Axel, and of course traveling and exploring the world.

Monique moved here from New Brunswick in 2011 and has called Alberta home ever since. She has been loving her job at the front desk of Mills Haven since 2018 and it shows. She came to us with years of dental office experience and is a wiz with insurance claims. Monique's favourite part of her job is getting to know our patients, and will make you feel at home.

Monique keeps busy outside the office, spending time with her husband, 3 kids, 2 dogs, and 1 grand-dog. If you have a dog, bring a picture, she would love to see it. She also loves spending time with friends and loves a good laugh.

Deepti Harwadekar lived in the Middle East, India and the US before finally calling Canada home. A graduate in Dental Hygiene from Oxford College, Toronto who recently moved to Edmonton and is loving it. She worked in Human Resources for a few years before pursuing her passion in dentistry. She enjoys travelling and also values family time at home. Being an animal lover, she likes to help animals by fostering them until they find their forever home.

I am proud to say I have been a dental assistant for 27 years. The last 11 of which I have worked side by side with Dr. Phillips and I wouldn't have it any other way. I love what I do and enjoy meeting new people every day. I am committed to making people feel as comfortable as I can in the dental chair. I am married with 2 fur babies. My dogs are like my children and will talk about them to anyone who will listen. Dogs are my favorite topic!

Jodi graduated from the University of Alberta Dental Hygiene program in 2002. She enjoys helping patients achieve and maintain healthy smiles. Her gentle touch and calm demeanour put patients at ease while in her care. When Jodi is not at work, she can be found spending time with her husband, 2 daughters, 3 cats and 3 dogs. She enjoys a very active lifestyle that includes camping, hiking, working out with her Peloton bike and woodworking with her husband.

Originally from Edmonton but has spent the last 10 years in Fort McMurray, Fernie and Grande Prairie. 2021 marks 25 years as a dental assistant and I still love what I do. If I'm not at work I am redecorating someones space or watching HDTV! Come summertime, I will be found at the lake with my husband and dog.

Emily graduated from NAIT's Dental Assisting program in 2007 and has enjoyed working as a Dental assistant ever since. She grew up in Sherwood Park and is happy to be working in her community as a part of the Mills Haven Dental team. Emily loves to travel and has visited over 20 countries so far. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband, family and friends and finding a balance of activity and relaxation.

Tianna was raised in Leduc and has recently moved here to Sherwood Park and is loving every bit of her new town. She has always had a passion for helping others and making everyone feel comfortable and welcome. She loves all aspects of administration and has been working in dental and medical for 6 years.

Tianna keeps busy outside the office — when she's not in clinic you can find Tianna tending to her millions of houseplants or spending time with her friends and family.

With direct billing, we submit your insurance claims electronically with no processing charges or fees.

Do you provide dental services for babies and children?

Yes we do!

The staff at Mills Haven Dental understand that children's teeth undergo several challenges and changes in the growth process. That is why we recommend regular checkups for children of any age.

The Canadian Dental Association recommends the assessment of infants, by a dentist, within 6 months of the eruption of the first tooth or around one year of age. The goal is to have your child visit the dentist before there is a problem with his or her teeth.

We are a family-oriented business and aim to help you and your entire family achieve and maintain a happy and healthy mouth.

We monitor the health of your child's teeth & gums to prevent disease, repair injury, and ensure optimal oral health.

How long do I have to wait for an appointment?

Average wait time to see one of our dentists depends on the service you require, and the time of year.

During slow periods, you may be able to get in to see us in as little as one day.

Busy periods may require you to wait 1-2 weeks.

However, scheduling changes do occur, and we may be able to get you in for an appointment more quickly if anything opens up sooner.

How long does a standard cleaning take?

A cleaning for most individuals at Mills Haven Dental will be completed in approximately 1 hour however, some patients may require additional time or appointments depending on their individual needs.
